Spring Hair

hair ideas
Welcome friends! I haven't posted in a long time, but it's now or never. Today, I'm dedicating my post to hair.

FIRST OF ALL I'd like to point out affordable shampoos and conditioners. Personally, I've tried out many types of conditioners, including high end ones. However, I BELIEVE that these work just as well.

Recently, I've cut my hair, and short hair is the best thing ever. I chopped off about four inches, so my hair is shoulder length. The beauty of short hair is that it's easy to manage, and in my opinion, looks fresh and polished.

I'm not all for the messy Alexa Chung curls, which she does rock, since I try to minimize as much heat as possible. I wash my hair about every 3 days, but before you freak, I shower everyday, I just don't wash my hair because every time you shampoo, you are stripping it of your natural oils, and it deteriorates hair after a while. I also don't dye my hair, so it's all natural, but if you are looking for a different color, try lemon juice. Just simply apply juice to strands of hair, and step outside and soak up the sunshine for about an hour. The UV rays from the sun are able to soak deep into the hair that way, bleaching it naturally. I believe deeply in keeping everything natural, and I never put any products in my hair, since it can cause build up.

Since I dislike heavy and oil stripping shampoo, I use the Pantene Aqua Shampoo that contains no sulfates, and it's light, so it'll give you lots of volume. Sulfate shampoo rids the hair of gunk, while keeping it healthy.

For conditioner, I love using Dove and coconut based products. I find that you do need conditioner in your roots or the scalp, since it keeps it at a healthy level of moisture without letting the scalp dry off and flake or having over oily hair. If you add a little bit of conditioner, it keeps your hair looking healthy.

STYLE:
Now that it's Spring, I love the idea of bohemian hair bands with flowers and braids. Of course, it would look gorgeous if you had long hair, and you can experiment with lots of accessories. Bows have an element of girlishness and I recommend it if you're dressing up.

Spring Lookbook VOLUME I: Watermelons

Watermelon
Spring is well, here. Nowadays, after that harsh cold Winter, we finally see the sun, and we feel that warm breeze. So, whenever I think of Spring, I think about how life is finally coming back and all the foods that grow. Thinking of food just reminds me of picnics in the Sun, and relaxing. Today, I decided to do a post all about watermelons!

I first took inspiration from these shorts I saw on polyvore. They were just so cute and it had a fresh theme.

For the first outfit, I have a green t-shirt. I love this green since it's very bright and it reminds me of a grasshopper. I added a pair of floral shorts. I chose these shorts because they incorporate some hints of the same green in the shirt, so it brings the entire look together. I added a pair of green converse to emphasize the idea of a casual and chic look.

For the next outfit, I chose a creamy lace tank top, which is perfect for the summer and spring. The creamy top is very feminine and it's very light and airy for those warm days. For the pants, I found the perfect color, and it's a mix of berry and pink, or as it would remind me of, "pinkberry"(if it exists). To finish the look off, I added a pa of striped green Sneakers, which really resembles VANS. The purse if just there because, well, I thought it was cute!

Watermelons are an exiting treat, and they have a fresh vibe for you, and a refreshing taste for your mouth. I hope you enjoyed this post!Make sure to look out for other segments and more from my look book!

Holiday Spectacular!

With the holidays coming up, you need to buy presents for your friends and family. I know this might seem early, but the sales are here and most people shop early. However, you don't want them asking for the gift receipt. As you can see below, these are some presents that can be found under the tree. I also think that these are affordable.Holiday gift sets

As you can see, I chose mostly beauty products and goods, not clothing. Unless you know your friend's size, I don't recommend doing that. For the first gift, I chose a Vera Bradley nail set. It looks like a handbag, but when you open it, a very handy nail set pops out at you. The second gift I chose is Essie's 2012 winter collection. Essie makes great colors, and they have great quality. Personally, I think that this nail polish is the best gift to give. They may seem pricey($8) per a shade, but it'll make a great present. Since Juicy Couture came out with some of their more affordable items for the holidays, I thought that this hoodie would be great. Since Juicy's hoodies are usually $100+, I thought that this was a great deal. This cost $50, and the material is super soft, and anyone will fall in love with it. I also like all the fur on it. Okay, what's a better gift than a beauty set. Victoria's Secret has many great beauty products, this is perfect. I have this myself, and this is the Love Spell scent. It smells really good, and they also have other scents. Another set is the Bath and body works sets. Bath and Body have a wide variety of sets, but my favorite is the Sleep set, from aromatherapy. They come from a special set, where it smells so good that it'll make you feel sleepy. It calms you down before bedtime and provides better sleep. Since I am very into good smelling things, why not get a Yankee candle. They have great scents, but recommend purchasing the sweet and cozy ones. The scents don't lie. Since Yankee candles are a little expensive, here's a trick. Instead of paying $30, you can purchase them at Home Goods for $10. The next thing is really adorable. I've realized that many girls like ugly dolls, and I saw them at Barnes and Noble once. I have to admit, they make great presents.

Stocking Stuffers;)

stocking stuffersIf  they like stockings and little presents, this is perfect. Stocking stuffers are really nice, since you can find a bunch of tiny things and stuff them into a stocking. These are usually beauty products, since they fit really nicely. For the first item, I chose a Lippy set, since no girl can resist lip gloss. I also think that the colors are perfect for this season! Next, I chose a Coastal Scents palette, since they are really good and inexpensive. It's tiny and the colors are very neutral and they are a beauty essential. The next gift I chose was a Stila holiday palette, since I thought it was very festive. The colors look gorgeous, and I love the snowflake. However, who can forget the Baby Lips by Maybelline. Baby lips are really moisturizing, and they come in many flavors. I also like the packaging, since it is very creative and colorful. Next, I chose another Essie nail polish. If it's a stocking stuffer, you can get any type you want, since they make all types of shades. Of course, we can't forget about technology. Pink sells beautiful earbuds, which I love because of all the colors. Personally, the jackpot is Bath and Body sanitizers. They only cost $1.50, and they come in a wide variety of scents. I love each and every scent, and it's perfect for on the go!
